Hello Year 1
Welcome to our new Home Learning page where you will find your learning whilst school is closed.
What age can my child start social networking?
As a parent it’s important you know that all social networking platforms (or social networking apps, if on a smartphone) have age limits. Some social networks use technologies that might not be right for some ages, or engage with communities that are made up of people much older than your child.
This Live Lesson will help your child to think and work like a scientist, with a focus on taste, nutrition, and the energy that food provides.
Look at the photographs our friends have shared.
It’s so good to see you and the fantastic things you have done!
If you would like to share a photograph of your learning or something else that you have been doing at home you can send it to:
You can also use this email address if you want to send a message to say hello.
It would be lovely to have the children's writing and drawing to add to their end of year report. It can just be a couple of sentences saying what they have enjoyed this year and what they are proud of. Please send a photograph of the finished sentences and picture to our class email: firstname.lastname@example.org

It is the last day before the summer holidays! You should be feeling very proud of the work you have done during all of these weeks of home learning. I am very proud of you! You really are 1 Amazing class! I hope you have the most fantastic summer holiday with your families and I look forward to seeing you all again at school in September.
Now that your poster is all finished you could present it to someone in your family so that they can learn lots about Australia. There is also a video clip to watch so you can make your boomerang. I wonder if it will come back?! I have also put a new link to another maths game. Have a go at playing the facts to make 10, subtractions facts for 10 and facts within 20.
I hope you have a super day today and enjoy your holidays. Bye 1 Amazing class!

Today's project challenge is to record information about some Australian animals in the final part of your poster. Draw pictures of the animals you choose and remember to label them as some people might not know the names of all of the animals. You might even want to include some interesting facts about the animals.
As well as finishing the final part of your poster, have fun playing Funky Mummy. Today do the + up to 20 and the - up to 20 games. If you have time you can even play the bonds up to 10, doubles and halves games on Funky Mummy again. It makes me giggle every time I get an answer right. Does it make you giggle too?
I hope you have fun today 1A.

Wow, it is our last week before the summer holidays! You have been doing so much learning! I am so proud of you all! To celebrate all of our learning about Australia, there is a project this week. Your project is to create a poster with information about Australia so other people can learn about this country too. Today I would like you to either find a very large piece of paper or stick some smaller pieces of paper together to make a large sheet. Then complete the heading for your poster. You can use bubble writing so it stands out really boldly and catches your audience's attention. Have a look at the heading for my poster. I included the Australian flag. Can you remember what colours are on the flag and how many stars it has? Then divide the rest of your poster paper into three parts ready to hear what tomorrow's project task will be. Remember you can look back at our previous challenges to remind yourself of any things you might want to include.
I hope you enjoy starting your poster today.
Ask your grown ups to help you to keep practising telling the time! Don’t forget to write your diary entry for today too.
